FAGOR AUTOMATION presents a very extensive selection of feedback systems for machine tool applications. Among them, incremental and absolute linear models and angular models.

Fagor Automation linear encoders

Incremental linear encoders
Incremental linear measuring systems keep the current position referred to a reference point (datum) or origin, by emitting pulses with a particular period, these pulses are counted to display the current position. To recover the reference point, FAGOR incremental linear measuring systems offer several reference marks that must be detected at the beginning of the work day or work shift. This process is particularly simple thanks to the distance-coded reference marks.

Absolute linear encoders
Absolute linear measuring systems provide the current position value immediately without the need for any prior movement. The absolute value is transmitted through a bidirectional serial interface using a FeeDat, SSI or other protocol.

Angular systems of Fagor Automation

Depending on the accuracy requirements, FAGOR offers two types of angle measuring systems: angular systems and rotary encoders.

Rotary encoders
Rotary encoders are used as measurement sensors for rotary movements, angular speed and also on linear movements as part of mechanical devices like leadscrews. Their application areas include electrical motors, machine tools, woodworking machinery, robots and handling devices as well as various measuring, inspection and verification devices.

The encoder consists of a machined aluminum base, a glass or metallic disk (depending on models), an IRED light source, electrical signal processing, integrated bearings and a anodized aluminum housing.

Angular encoders
Angular system means that it provides an accuracy better than ± 5" and more than 10,000 pulses per turn. These systems are used in applications like CNC rotary tables, swinging spindles on machine tools, indexers, high precision angular measuring tables, precision devices in angular metrology and telescopes in sectors like metrology, aerospace, machine tool, rotary tables, etc.

Fagor angular encoders offer high resolution and high quality; their inside body is made of stainless steel and their mechanical design together with the quality of the signals they provide through graduated glass give them great signal stability against under temperature changes or under a variety of frequencies. The whole assembly offers accuracies of ±5" and ±2" depending on the model. Their housing has a connector that makes them incredibly easy to install and maintain.

High accuracy angular encoders come in two versions, protruding shaft and hollow shaft; in diameters of 90 mm and 200 mm and TTL and 1 Vpp signals which results in a great variety of output pulses.
