Description and objectives:

The objective of the call for proposals Retos-Colaboración is to support the experimental development projects in cooperation between companies and research organizations, in order to promote the development of new technologies, the business application of new ideas and techniques, and to contribute to the creation of new products and services.

This project “Robust light structuring techniques for application in industrial environments” TELURO-AEI financed within RETOS-COLABORACION program has as a general objective “to develop the full potential of the application of structured beams in the manufacturing industry, offering more efficient solutions and introducing industrial processes and products compatibles with the circular economy”. Therefore, the result of TELURO-AEI is a laser manufacturing strategy compatible with the industrial environment, that is, simple and robust, that produces processes and products not only of superior performance but also more environmentally friendly. That is, with a rational use of raw materials, less use of chemical elements, lower manufacturing energy consumption and a higher separation capacity in the recycling of products at the end of their useful life.

Throughout the project, a structures beam generation system using fetmosecond laser will be developed and applied to a particular case of an established market: industrial control systems based on the optical position coding, and to a particular case of an emerging market: fetmosecond laser manufacturing itself.

This objective will contribute to the Spanish strategy of science, technology and innovation, which includes the orientation of R+D+I activities to respond to the global challenges of Spanish society, which implies the coordinated implementation of R+D+I actions around various challenges. Among the eight challenges that make up the state program of research oriented to the challenges of society, this project seeks to contribute to the CHALLENGE OF SAFE, EFFICIENT AND CLEAN ENERGY, since the new manufacturing techniques will significantly affect the improvement in the manufacturing process and also in energy efficiency in the use of optical encoders.
