Chapter 1: Which is faster, manual machining or conversational machining in a simple piece?

Nowadays Conversational programming is very common in industry and is available at Fagor CNC´s. Its main advantage is that offers to the operator the ability to create programs in a fast and intuitive way.

With Fagor Conversational programming, the average programming time of a piece of cycle is less than a couple of minutes.

To use the Fagor Conversational language, isn´t necessary to have programmation knowledge. The transaction from the plane to the machining is carried out in an agile and intuitive way in few steps.

The programming is based on preconceived cycles where the machinist/programmer only has to complete some basic data of the part noble made (dimensions, speed, tools…).

Prior to execution allows us to check if our cycle has programming errors or missing information to complete. To do this, it is possible to carry out a simulation on the same screen to check if the programmed and the select tools are the correct ones. If there is something wrong, the CNC will give a specific warning of the problem and offer help to solve it.

For example, the range of lathe cycles ranges goes from basic operations, such as rolling, chamfering and facing, to the most complex machining:

  • Milling cycles on a lathe in the ZC, YZ, XC and XY work planes.
  • Specific cycles for the petroleum sector, threads and trimming of these…
  • Adapted cycles for milling machines with rotary axis.
  • User cycles. Development of cycles personalized to the needs of the customer
