Description and objectives:

The LaserStarLine project aims to replace blanking presses with ultra-fast coil -fed laser cutting machines. This new machine concept will combine control strategy solutions, lightweight mechanical design and programming to obtain an ultra-productive system for laser cutting of moving sheet metal. The aim is to produce the machine with the best coil-fed laser cutting dynamics on the market, capable of meeting the production requirements of automotive market. The consortium is a union of Goiti, a Spanish machine manufacturer, Compotech, a Czech specialist in composite parts, Fagor Automation, a Spanish supplier of numercial controls and ModuleWorks, a German developer of CAM systems.

LaserStarLine plans to develop an advanced and highly productive solutions for laser cutting machines, with the technological challenges being the control of the machine considering its high dynamics, the control of the distance to the sheet, which will have to be performed at very high speed to maintain good cutting conditions, and the planning of the machine movements, which will also have to adapt to the dynamics considering the possible vibrations that may occur during the process.
