Fagor Automation has participated at the 19th Machine-Tool congress

This year again, Fagor Automation has participated at the 19th edition of the “Machine-Tool and manufacturing technology Congress” held from the 12th to the 14th of June in the technological park in San Sebastian (Basque Country, Spain).

This rendez-vous has been an excellent forum for researchers, business people, technicians and students to have an opportunity to share their knowledge and experience related to the latest metal-mechanical manufacturing technologies.

Mr. José Luis de la Peña (Aotek, Fagor Automation’s research center) inaugurated the sessions presenting the subject on “Large machines, Design and precision”.

  • Measuring the positioning accuracy on large machine-tools.
  • Development of a virtual machine for the dynamic analysis of large machine-tools.
  • Design and setup of a portal multi-spindle type Laser cutting machine of great dynamics.

On Thursday, 13th, Mr. Marcelino Novo, director of Fagor Automation’s R&D+i department presided the table on the “Intelligence in productive processes” where several Aotek members participated as lecturers.

The last day, The congress ended up with a special session on “Innovation on business models” presenting real diversification experiences of companies nearby and awarding some prizes.

Mr. Alberto Mendikute from IK4-IDEKO was awarded the prize for the best scientific-technical lecture by Mr. Juan Carlos Izaguirre, mayor of San Sebastián. Mr. Andrés Zabara awarded the company “Construcciones Mecánicas Lazpiur” the prize for the lecture on the most innovative company presented in cooperation with IK4-TEKNIKER and Mr. Oscar Usetxi awarded Mr. Iñaki Arrigubieta from UPV (Basque Public University) the prize for his final project.
